425 ELITE

WHAT IS “425 ELITE”?

425 ELITE is a youth travel club soccer program. Our mission is to provide a team soccer playing environment that is conducive for a holistic and experiential development of players. Our aim is to create a better environment with consistent interactions with players and parents along with positive and supportive approach of the coaches. We believe that when commitment and hard work are supported with a positive coaching, it leads to an overall development of an individual at a young age with qualities like respect and humility. 425 ELITE program has teams from U12 age group through high school.

WHICH LEAGUE DO WE PLAY IN? 425 Elite Teams compete against other youth soccer clubs such FC United, Wilmette Wings, FC-1, Chicago Fire Jr etc. in YSSL (Boys) and IWSL (Girls).

PLAYING SEASONS: Fall, winter (indoor league play) and spring.

AGE CUTOFFS: The age cut off is based on the US Soccer mandated year of birth system. To calculate use the Year Season Ends – Birth Year = Age Group.  For Fall 2018: DOB 2007-U12, DOB 2006-U13, DOB 2005-U14, DOB 2004- U15, DOB 2003-U16. Younger players can play in older age groups.

PRACTICES: Each team has 3 practices per week in the fall and spring. (1 or 2 practices per week during the winter season)

HOME FIELDS: Our current home fields are Techny Fields, Nick Corwin park, Skokie Playfield in Winnetka, Duke Childs Field, and Fox Meadow fields.

PROGRAM FEES: $1600 for a full season team and $1250 for high school age teams that play for Elite 425 for ½ of the year and for their high school the other half of the year. If your child makes the team, the non-refundable payment is due in full within two days of notice. If not paid, your slot will be offered to the next player on the list. If your child opts to play primary AYSO in addition to Elite there is no additional fee. Players are required to buy their own uniforms from the team store.

DO I STILL PLAY PRIMARY AYSO? No. Elite is a big-time commitment. Players have practices or games four days a week.  If a player would like even more soccer, then it is available as an option if a player is interested in playing both.

TRYOUTS: Players should register in advance online for tryouts, but we will accept walk-ons. Registration is available on our website (www.425elite.org) on the TRYOUTS page.  The tryout cost is $30.

PLAYER EVALUATION AT TRYOUTS: Players will be evaluated by professional coaches on all aspects of soccer: ability to read the game, dribbling, passing, ball control, athleticism and attitude.  Attitude includes the ability to listen and follow instructions.

WHAT SHOULD PLAYERS BRING TO TRYOUTS? Your child should come ready to play soccer wearing shin guards and cleats. Players should bring a soccer ball and water.

COACHING STAFF: Our professional coaches are USSF (United States Soccer Federation) licensed.

LEVEL OF COMMITMENT:  Players are expected to attend all practices and games. In case unavoidable absence parents/players need to inform the coach as far in advance as possible. Player’s attitude towards the team/teammates and their level of commitment shown during practices and games will impact their playing time. A full commitment is required, and players and parents must sign a commitment letter.  If a player misses practices and games without prior notifications and cannot fulfill the 425 ELITE commitment he/she will be asked to leave the program.

IS IT FINE IF MY CHILD CAN ONLY ATTEND ONE OF THE TRYOUT DAYS?  Players should attend both days for a more complete evaluation.  Players can attend only one tryout day, but it is not ideal. Please notify us in advance.
