SOCCER AT HOME

Hi Everyone,

As we all go through these trying times and face the coronavirus amid uncertainty and fear, we need to keep ourselves upbeat and hopeful.

Our hope with the content on this space is to provide some fun challenges for all AYSO soccer players and their parents.

How does this work?
All teams from age group U7 through U12 will be presented with one or two soccer/fitness-related challenges every week.

Where to perform these challenges?
Players can perform these challenges individually at home.

What will the challenges be?
Challenges will consist of soccer or fitness-related skills (e.g. toe taps, foundations, juggles, etc.)

For example, if the Week 1 challenge is 'Max Toe Taps in 30 seconds,' then each player can try to do as many toe taps as possible in 30 seconds and record their best attempt for each day of the week (1 recorded attempt per day). At the end of the week the attempt with max number of toe taps will be taken into consideration.

Because this is a team challenge, the top scores for all the players on a team roster will be added together to make one final team score. Teams will be competing with the other teams in their own age and gender group (e.g. all the U7 girls teams will be competing with each other).

How to record the score?
Each team will be provided with a score sheet link which they can update (each team will only be able to see and edit their own scores). 
At the end of the week, the winning team will be announced with their score for that week's particular challenge. We'll also announce those individuals who performed best on the challenge. 
 
**Guidelines and tutorial videos will be provided**

Thanks to Stuart Barlow from P2 Soccer (who provides our professional trainers), we now have excellent tutorial videos that everyone can access to view each week's challenge. Stuart and several other trainers have created some amazing easy-to-understand videos. These soccer workout/challenge videos are available on P2's YouTube channel (P2 Soccer).

AT HOME WORKOUT/CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE 1: MAX TOE TAPS IN 30 SECONDS

1. Task is to get as many toe taps as possible in 30 seconds.
2. Number of days for task: 5
3. Record your best score on each of the 5 days. (There is no limit on practice runs each day)
